I've tried to keep up with most of the sites I follow, but I haven't been too good at adding to my own blog. Like everybody else, I've been busy making Christmas cards/verses/letters etc. and don't work quite as fast as I used to. I just thought I'd share a couple Christmas Cards I've made lately - wouldn't want you to think I'm sitting idle (lol).

Two Cuttlebug Challenges on PCP

Well, I've been busy making Christmas cards but did make 2 CB challenges for PCP. The first one, we had to use a Cuttlebug EF and colour it but leave background white. I used water-colour pencils to colour and glittered it after it was dry. I also used silver glitter glue on the dots. The second one, we had to use CB EF and Die Cuts - which I have done except for the sentiment and the lace trim (MS). I added stick-on pearls for decos on the trees. Of course, both of these cards were made in my favourite colour. Hope everybody is having a good week.

Hi Crafters:

Well, this is a sketch challenge and I used my new Sizzix fish for the graphic - now isn't he just the cutest? .......and of course I did this card in black and white - one of my favs. I used the Cuttlebug 'bubbles' EF and of course cut the fish a couple times to get the polka dot fins etc. The sentiment was generated on the computer using a 'bubbles' font and I added some bubbles on either end of the sentiment. The white part of the card always looks a bit yellow when one takes a photo in the evening. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

P.S. I took another picture this morning, now the 'white' is very 'white! (lol)

I just had to share my "grand-dog" in her pirate costume - she will be wearing this when the kids come to the door tonight...........aw............so cute eh? Our son and granddaughter brought Chili over this morning so we could see her dressed up.

First Attempt At A Shadow Box Card

Hi Crafters:

Well, on PCP, we had to make a shadow box card (Cuttlebug Challenge) and use two Nesties that compliment one another (in our Cuttlebug) - I chose the ovals. For my shadow box graphic, I used Tracey's lovely digi flowers (from Fred, She Said), then punched trim with my scalloped edge punch for the sides - the little leaves are punched as well and added some stick-on pearls to dress it up. Hello crafters - I've not posted much - have been working on Christmas cards and not felt well for some time (off and on) but I do want to share a Cuttlebug Challenge card I did for PCP. I used Whitewash Colour-Core cardstock and ran the CS through the Cuttlebug using the Haunted House EF - the little die cuts are also Cuttlebugged. I was pleased how the haunted house really came through after sanding (lots of sanding on this one). Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

I received this lovely award from Kim at "The Paper Craft Diva". She is one lovely lady and I met her on Paper Craft Planet. Her cards are amazing and wonderful ideas, so go over to The Paper Craft Diva and have a look.

The 5 I'm going to give this award to are listed below. These ladies are extremely busy and may not have time to participate, but they are amazing crafters and deserve this award.

1) Roz at A Creative Muddle - she is one talented lady and has been crocheting alot for a new little grandson. Do have a look at her blog - her cards are lovely as well.
2) Barb at Made For Keeps - Barb's cards are absolutely amazing and even my interest (in colouring, stamps etc.) has changed since knowing her.
3) Totty Jo at ATC's ....y otras cosas - and here is another amazing lady - I would have to call her "Jill of All Trades". Totty does amazing crafts - too many to mention. Do visit her and have a look.
4) Winnie at Winnie's Creations - This nice lady is a huge fan of "Elvis Presley" and loves to join in challenges with he lovely cards. Do visit her and listen to Elvis while you browse.
5) Heather at Vanilla Heaven - This busy lady helps run a lovely site called Incy Wincy Designs which is a site for Children's Charities. Heather makes lovely cards also.

So - 10 things about myself.......oh dear, hope I can think of 10.
1) I have 2 children, 5 grandchildren
2) I've been married 51 years to my wonderful hubby
3) My best friend (from school days) got me interested in card-making.
4) Before being disabled, I played the piano
5) When I was able I loved gardening and had a greenhouse
6) Hubby and me used to go on canoe trips in our younger days
7) I have one sister (she's fantastic)
8) ....I'm running out of things......I'm in a wheelchair any time I go out somewhere but can get around my home on a walker.
9) "Tweety Bird" is my favourite character
10) I finally bought a "Cricut" this year!

Happy World Card Making Day Challenge @ FSS

You must go over to "Fred, She Said" blogspot and join in the 'Happy World Card Making Day Challenge'. All you have to do is use one of Fred's digital graphics (there are even some freebies you can use). I love her graphics and have quite a few of them.

I thought because it is near Halloween, I would use FSS "Emma, the Halloween Cat". I used a 3d sheet with Emma and cute co-ordinating background papers that came with it. She is so cute. I did add a web/spider, "Boo with eyes" and a bat. I also added a little bit of orange rick-rack for trim and scalloped top and bottom edges. I very lightly chalked a haze of purple around the white oval. Hope you like it and thanks for dropping by.

SUNDAY SKETCH & STAMP #12 - "Barb's Sketch"

Hi Girls: Well, I thought I would take a stab at SS&S this week. The sketch is a nice one to work with and was designed by Barb at "Made For Keeps". My card is approx. 5 x 7", the gold piece the flower is on, I ran through the Cuttlebug in the Distressed Stripes folder. The Poinsettia was stamped 6 times (gold powder & embossed) and I cut out layers and built it up. The bow is some ribbon I got off of a Christmas gift last year. I used 3 red buttons and one gold button brad for embellies. The greenery around the bow and the holly in the corner was cut on my Cricut. "Season's Greetings" is a gold sticker. The background paper was made by a friend in PSP and I had it printed out so thought I would use it. Hope you like it and thanks for dropping by.

Audrey Hepburn - "Funny Face"

I thought I would share this card with you - I got the doll (Audrey Hepburn) and gorgeous outfit from "Dover Publications". If you sign up with them (and probably many of you do), you can get free graphics through them and this happens to be one I kept from their selection. I used pink co-ordinations CS and sanded it (ran through Cuttlebug first) and the bottom half was put through the Cuttlebug as well. The outfit had tabs on it so one could dress the doll but I just cut those off and made the whole image. "Happy Birthday" is Cuttlebugged as well. ......and of course the punched black lace behind the beautiful lady is MS. Thanks for looking.

SUNDAY SKETCH & STAMP #11

Hello Crafters - thought I would try the Sunday Sketch & Stamp Challenge this time - the sketch is #11 and created by Arianne and a very nice one to work with. Why don't you give it a try OR go over to SS&S and see the lovely creations made by the Design Team.

I stamped a Sarah Kay image and coloured her with coloured water pencils using a clear marker to blend. The backgound papers are Basic Grey from the Lemonade series. I used MS lace punch for the left side strip - "Hello Friend" is generated on the Cuttlebug. I mixed/matched some flowers and added to the top left corner.

2 New Cricut Cartridges - Yippee!

Hello Crafters - yes, I'm really treating "me" these days. I bought two new Cricut Cartridges 1) Lyrical Letters and 2)Paper Doll Dress Up. I haven't been making many cards - just haven't been in the mood BUT, I did have a play with my Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge. The sentiment is from Lyrical Letters. I'm not terribly pleased with my colour choices but all in all, aren't the paper dolls cute? Thanks for stopping by - hope you like it.

Another Cuttlebug Challenge on PCP

Hi Crafters: This card is for this week's challenge for Cuttlebug on PCP - we had to follow a sketch and emboss somewhere with one of the CB folders. I had a little PM graphic (isn't she cute?) that I coloured (water pencils/marker) then used my nesties ovals to put her on. I used divine swirls for the background, small punched flowers and MS white picket fence. The Hello is CB generated. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

My camera is giving me problems so excuse the white/pink lines across the oval - I may have to invest in a new one.

Cuttlebug Challenge at PCP (Tri-Fold Card)

Well, it's been awhile since I've posted - have not felt well for a couple weeks but feeling better now. When I felt like doing something, I worked on Christmas Cards..........but, today, I made a card for the CB Challenge at PCP. We had to make a tri-fold card - this is my first ever. The graphic is Sarah Kay and framed with Nesties. I realized I had blue on blue so cut a scalloped white oval, cut it in four and glued it to the back of the blue one just so the white barely shows. It's not perfect, but it worked! (lol) I used Divine Swirls on the top, CB "Hello Friend" and 3 lovely blue pearls......oh how I love those pearls. The outside edge and inside edge of the other fold is punched with MS Lace Punch. .....and of course, I just had to make the card in my favourite colour (lol). Black & White (My Favourite!)

Hi Crafters........just finished this card and oh my, how I love black and white. I used the Sarah Kay stamp, stamped it 2-3 (first time on Gina K CS with Memento Tuxedo ink) times on co-ordinating papers and pieced her. I used clear ink pad and white fine powder to stamp on the black CS/polka-dots. The "Just Because" and the flowers are from Don Juan Cartridge (cricut) and the fence, of course, is MS. The little 'corner leaves' are punched and I added a pearl in each corner. Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

"The Cuttlebug Spot" Challenge #43

Hi Ladies - What a great sketch to work from over at The Cuttlebug Spot ....... you must try it. I used mostly "Stampin Up" CS and Designer Papers. My combination of colours are white, purple and silver. The word "Friend" is from the Cuttlebug as is the background of "Swiss Dots". I received some stick-on pearls and Spellbinders dies for my birthday and I just had to try them out. The beautiful frame and vintage lady are my new Spellbinders dies. I inked both the frame and the lady while still in the die - ooooooooo I like it. I just had to use MS lace punch again and trimmed the purple strip with silver tiny rick-rack. Those stick-on pearls are fabulous! Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

"Spot The Cuttlebug Spot" Challenge #42

Hi Ladies:

Well, I love Cuttlebug Embossing folders (Divine Swirls being one of my favs) so thought I'd enter the challenge over at The Cuttlebug Spot. The prizes are some of the new Cuttlebug folders that Provo Craft has recently released........now, who wouldn't want one or two of those? The Design Team over there have done samples using the new folders - they are magnificent so have a look. I stamped Sarah Kay "First Kiss" on Gina K CS and coloured with water colour pencils and a blender. The oval is inked around the edge and also added a Nesties Scalloped border. For my background CB design I chose Divine Swirl Embossing Folder - I love it! Then I trimmed with MS lace punch and added black/white polka-dot paper (trimmed with SU scalloped edge punch). The word "LOVE" is Cuttlebug alphabet "You're Not The Boss Of Me" The little flower I made from "Fred, She Said" Outline flowers and printed them on polka-dot paper with a pearl added for the center. Oh my this was fun.....hope you like it and thanks for dropping by.

Cuttlebug "Smoosh" Design

Hi Girls:

Well, on PCP, we had to use a new technique (to me anyway) and it is called "Smoosh". If one has a brayer, that is probably the best way to do it, but, I don't. I kept my SU Lavender Lace ink pad as flat as I could on the Argyle embossing folder and rubbed back and forth until it looked pretty good to me. Then I added the cardstock (SU Lavender Lace) to the inked folder and ran it through the Cuttlebug. I'm quite pleased with the results. I added some of Tracey's (Fred, She Said) digital purple blossom flowers and leaves from her big dahlia flowers (mix and match lol). The corner is made on the CB and "Happy Birthday" from the Cricut. I used pom poms for the center of the flowers. "Smooshing" is fun girls - hope you like it and thanks for looking.

We had a red & white Cuttlebug Challenge on Paper Craft Planet and had to use two embossing folders as well. I used Divine Swirls (vase) and Distressed Stripes (upper half of card) for my embossing folders and also the Cuttlebug Vintage Corners. The Happy Birthday is from my Cricut and the flowers are from Fred, She Said, digital graphics. The designer paper is a piece I had in my stash then finished off with MS lace border and a red ribbon on the vase. Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

Great sketch over at SS&S - have a look and give it a try. Well, you better put your sunglasses on for this one - the sun is out in full (lol). I can't believe I used such bright colours. The 3 flowers and the butterfly are stamped (Verve Visual) with black stazon ink and then I cut them all out and popped them with a pop dot. The background paper I bought at Michael's a long time ago and couldn't find the name on it. I ran a couple of the CS pieces through the cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" and the other one is "Leafy Branch". The sun was cut on my Cricut (popped as well) and "Happy B*day" on the Cuttlebug. Hope you like it!

Hi There - I can now show this card as it was for my girlfriend of 55 years approx. and she turned "70". I was so pleased with this card and really had fun making it - hope you like it. The letters and numbers are from the Cuttlebug - the graphic & "Happy Birthday" are from the Cricut.

This is my friend that I went to school with and she got me interested in creating cards - thank goodness - it keeps me busy! Happy 70th, Helen!

SUNDAY SKETCH & STAMP #6 Challenge

Hi Crafters: I finally finished my "Sunday Sketch & Stamp" challenge and made this card from my dear friend Barb's Sketch - what a wonderful sketch to work with. The background paper is called Butcher Block (Text Block) and the maroon CS is very textured but I don't know where I bought it (lol). The side strip is Martha Stewart's Lace Punch with a little strip of ribbon/bow. The stamp is a new one I have never used (Sarah Kay) Country Girl - isn't she the cutest? I also stamped with Mementos black ink on off-white cardstock and coloured her with water-colour pencils/blender - and finally touched her up with little punched leaf thingys in the corner. The flowers are my own mix/match - hope you like it. Oh yes, the "Happy Birthday" is done with "Wild Card" cartridge on my Cricut. Barb, I am so pleased how this one turned out - thanks for the great sketch.
